Without reliable, relevant and timely health information, health care managers and providers cannot make decisions to allocate resources effectively, improve the quality of health services, or address epidemics such as HIV/AIDS. The overall goal of the eHMIS-Project is to promote and strengthen evidence-based decision making at all levels of healthcare in developing countries in an effort to improve the management of health services and the quality of health care delivery through timely, complete and accurate provision of health related information. Its design bases on the health management information system (HMIS) of Uganda complemented by interntional standards, e.g. HL7 EHR-S. The application links hospital processes to routine reporting at district and national level.
